Catering and Events Manager
Tell us about your role:
I have always believed that to succeed, you need to love what you do for a career. I take a client’s vision and sculpt it into a reality. It begins with a conversation and ends with a memory.
How did you come to join the Coltivare Team?
Growing up, I was involved with my family’s wholesale floral growing business in Elmira, New York. I was exposed to the growing process and enjoyed every aspect of integrating beautiful, natural things into people’s lives. Venturing to Harrisonburg, Virginia for college, I graduated from James Madison University and moved to the Washington, DC Metro area to start my career in the hospitality and event planning industry. I did event planning for Class A buildings throughout the DC area, working with a variety of non-profit associations, government agencies and large corporations.
In 2012, I returned to the Ithaca area focusing on floral design and weddings. I worked closely with local wineries, breweries, bed and breakfasts, hotels, colleges, and universities to create successful and memorable events. In 2014, I joined Coltivare because the mission encompassed every facet of how I saw the hospitality industry and my career evolving.
Coltivare allows me to do what I love, and also feel good about it. I prefer being in the garden with my fingers in the dirt, so selling fresh local food I feel passionate about is very rewarding. Guiding students through the event planning world is just an extra perk!
