We will be open for Brunch 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday, December 16th but closed for dinner. We appreciate your understanding as we allow our hard working staff a night off to attend the annual holiday party.

Our Story

Located just a block from The Commons, Coltivare is the downtown Ithaca culinary center, event venue, and farm-to-table restaurant of Tompkins Cortland Community College. Our professionally staffed restaurant supports four related degree programs as well as sourcing much of its produce from the college’s TC3 Farm in Dryden. Serving seasonal New American fare locally sourced and inventively prepared, we let the flavors of the Finger Lakes shine through. We also feature a full selection of craft cocktails, regional wines, and New York State beer.

Coltivare means “to cultivate” in Italian. We cultivate learning and the land and transform the harvest into local, farm fresh dining. Open for Dinner nightly Tuesday-Sunday, we offer Happy Hour specials at the bar Tuesday-Friday, and a special Sunday Brunch (don’t miss our award winning build-your-own Bloody Mary bar!). Our modern, rustic, and inviting atmosphere serves as the perfect backdrop for our farm-to-table mission.

Events

Coltivare offers several customizable and varied events space options. The ballroom will accommodate catered events for more than 250 guests. The Restaurant, with 110 seats, additionally houses The Wine Cellar, an intimate private dining room for up to 30 guests. Other spaces include a tiered amphitheater and a 10-station modern cooking laboratory. Inspired by our Farm-to-Table concept, our modern industrial meets contemporary rustic design features reclaimed wood and vintage touches. Locally inspired and expertly prepared, our made to order menus are also one of a kind.
